← ENEMIES·TERMINIDS·RUPTURE STRAIN RUPTURE SPEWER
The foul Rupture Spewer bursts from the ground only to spew its undemocratic pestilence on the innocent. Upon returning to its dark warrens, it is believed to consume its own dead in order to generate more of it's corrosive acid.
TACTICAL BRIEF
• Rupture Spewers can burrow underground to remain hidden and avoid non-explosive ordnance. They typically engage in hit-and-run tactics against their enemies. As a result, they can be difficult to pin down and eliminate. Explosives forcibly flush Rupture Spewers out of their burrowing state, proving highly valuable in preventing Rupture Spewers from further advancing and attacking.
• Rupture Spewers that expose their head upon emerging aren’t affected by stagger effects such as the ARC-12 Blitzer, and will continue attacking unimpeded unless killed.
• As with other Spewer variants, Rupture Spewers often spawn in patrols with one another, making it possible to quickly dispatch such groups by detonating their sacks and damaging each other in a chain reaction via their death explosion.
• Rupture Spewers are best dealt with by shooting their head, as that is considered their weak spot, though this requires weaponry with Medium armor penetration. They can also be killed efficiently by targeting their spinal plates or butts with explosives. Ballistic weapons can damage their butts, but will require many shots to destroy them as they are very durable.
• The mouth is Unarmored I and vulnerable to any weapon, though it can be difficult to hit due to its size. Weapons such as the SG-8 Punisher or JAR-5 Dominator can damage it with less difficulty.
• Weapons that stagger, such as the S-11 Speargun and ARC-3 Arc Thrower, can interrupt their spewing attacks.
• The butt of the Rupture Spewer has a high durable percentage but no explosive damage resistance. This means explosive or plasma weapons can prove very effective against them, such as the R-36 Eruptor and GL-21 Grenade Launcher.
• The Rupture Spewers can still be hit by gas, fire, and explosions while underground.
