← ENEMIES·TERMINIDS·SPORE BURST STRAIN SPORE BURST WARRIOR
The Spore Burst Warrior is a medium Terminid that is a part of the Spore Burst Strain subfaction, and is a variant of the Warrior.
TACTICAL BRIEF
• Upon death, Spore Burst Terminids will release a cloud of spores, damaging nearby Helldivers, disrupting vision, and buffing nearby Spore Burst Terminids. When entering a cloud of spores (created by another Spore Burst Terminid’s death or through the Spore Burst Bile Titan’s bile spew), Spore Burst Terminids will gain a significant increase in speed, allowing them to close the gap on Helldivers.
• Gas and Fire weapons such as the AX/TX-13 Dog Breath, FLAM-40 Flamethrower, and B/FLAM-80 Cremator can slow and deter Spore Burst Terminids from a Helldiver's position, allowing them to more easily avoid attacks and spore explosions. Spore Burst Terminids do not release their spores if they die while burning. This makes continuous laser weapons (such as the LAS-5 Scythe) and Fire weapons useful to avoid enraging a horde of Spore Burst Terminids. The Spore Burst Warrior specifically will also not release spores if bleeding out kills it after its head is destroyed.
• Crowd control Stratagems such as MD-8 Gas Mines, A/M-23 EMS Mortar Sentry, Orbital EMS Strike, and A/ARC-3 Tesla Tower are especially effective at slowing down Spore Burst Terminids, preventing them from using their increased speed to engage Helldivers.
• Using melee weapons against Spore Burst Terminids is not recommended, as repeated spore explosions will stagger and eventually kill an ignorant Helldiver.
• Despite its passive effect, Armor with the Acclimated or Desert Stormer passives are not very effective against Spore Burst Terminids, as they provide limited utility against the already low damage spore explosions.
• Spore Burst Warriors can be killed with any weapon, but high fire rate or explosive weaponry can quickly take out groups of them.
• The fastest way to kill a Spore Burst Warrior is by destroying its head, though destroying it will cause it to enter its "berserk" state. Helldivers can shoot the Spore Burst Warrior more to fully kill it, or they can avoid it until it fully bleeds out. Destroying any of its legs will prevent its movement speed increase.
• Spore Burst Warriors are capable of causing Bug Breaches even without their head, though they will likely bleed out before fully calling it in.
• Spore Burst Warriors are generally slow, but Helldivers should remain wary of their strafing capabilities, which may hinder a retreat from other Terminids.
